CD Burning over a LAN
Make sure you have registered the DVR site in the SmartBase software. Click START > PROGRAMS > IDR BASE > SMARTBASE and then click the Setup button. Choose Local and click the Setup button. Now click the Remote tab and then the Add button. Type in a Site ID and then the static network IP address of the DVR. You can add the username and password here or leave it blank and input that information, each time you connect.
- To access the SmartSearch, once the software has been installed, click START > PROGRAMS > IDR BASE > SMARTSEARCH. Click the Remote button and the registered Capture site(s) will appear. Select the desired site and the click the Connect button. Enter your username and password to finish the connection.
- Go to the start of the incident you wish to record.
- Click on the Save button and a window will appear asking whether you want to save as current image, video file or Minibank, pick Minibank.
- You will then have to choose the length of clip you want. You can expect to get between 5-20 camera hours of video, depending on the quality and activity in the clip, on a standard 800MB CD.
- A "Save As" window will appear. Title the clip as you choose and copy to the Desktop on the C drive.
- Insert a CD-R or CD-RW into the CD drive on the PC and use the burning software on the PC to copy the clip or clips to the CD.
